Bracteates are those medallions from the Iron Age where Scandinavia emerges with a cultural expression for the first time in history. Their imagery express an infinitely connective and transgressive counter power to empire, so we found it only fitting that there should be a Nordic Animism Raven Bracteate. The Runic text on this bracteate is “Hrabnaz foriþ Runoz”, proto-nordic of the words “Raven Leads Runes”. It is constructed by the historical linguist Kevin French.
The Raven bracteates are made of gilded silver and handcrafted with Iron age techniques by Mathias Olsen from Ravengaard Jewelry. Hence the bracteates are all unique.
